The Awesome Foundation, established in 2009 in Boston, stands as a beacon for creativity and innovation across the globe, with a mission to advance the cause of awesome in the universe. This unique organization empowers small businesses and creative projects by offering $1,000 grants that come with no strings attached, fostering an environment where ideas can flourish unencumbered. Each grant is the result of contributions from ten or so "micro-trustees" at any of the Foundation's autonomous chapters, who pool their resources to support visionary projects. While these chapters often favor initiatives that positively impact their local communities, they are occasionally open to considering proposals from beyond their immediate geographical area. Applicants are encouraged to apply to a chapter close to them, where they have established roots, or to a chapter that might hold a special interest in their project idea.
